about

This track obviously plays with biblical imagery, but it's not christian or anti-christian. It's more like "secular gospel", if you want to call it that - and uses images and themes embedded in culture surrounding us. I came up with the chorus in rehearsals when we were playing a draft version of the song, and I was improvising something on top of the music. It immediately felt "right", and the rest of the lyrics were built on that theme: of dealing with your own "devils"or demons

lyrics

Tell Satan to their face that you won’t
Accompany them in torments and grief
They’ll lead you to a gulf of despair
The very next door to hell
No, no...
Devils please be gone
Devils please be gone
Let the devils be gone
And they’re gone
Tell Satan to their face that you see
Not all the devils in hell can damn thee
Is it a place that you can avoid? Or one to be expected?
I will stand and I will wait
No, no...
Devils please be gone
Devils please be gone
Let the devils be gone
Please be gone
Please be gone
Please be gone
Please be gone
Devils please be gone
Devils please be gone
Let the devils be gone
And they’re gone

about

Black Twig Finland

Black Twig are about fuzzy pop songs, shoegaze, folk & droning rock songs.

It all started out with improvisation and spacey jams, but somehow compositions and thought-out structures began to build up. They live in Helsinki, but the members originally hail from obscure Finnish locations like Pyhtää, Hyvinkää, Vantaa, and Kuopio. They play two guitars, one electric bass, and a set of drums. ... more
